We are keeping our staff and community healthy and safe.
The welfare of the I-Light and Indiana GigaPOP staff and community is a primary concern in this fluid situation, and we are making decisions as warranted following guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO), along with Governor Holcomb’s office, Indiana University, and state and county health departments. These efforts are being taken to help mitigate and slow the spread of COVID-19 and to help protect all of us. In accordance with I-Light’s and the GigaPOP’s Disaster Plans, which include contingencies for pandemic, I-Light and Indiana GigaPOP staff have completed a smooth transition to working remotely. The GlobalNOC Service Desk is also now operating in a completely remote model. We follow public health protocols in maintaining our business operations and coordinating with our many partners to keep our network running optimally during this critical time.
We are maintaining our world-class network infrastructure and services.
I-Light and Indiana GigaPOP will continue to provide the same high-speed, high-availability, feature-rich network that brings Indiana’s brightest to the world, and the world’s brightest to Indiana. Our engineers constantly monitor and assess network traffic levels and make adjustments as needed to ensure reliable operations. We are not restricting any members commodity internet at this time so if the need to burst above your subscription rate occurs, there will not be any action taken to restrict access. We have also been in contact with our commodity internet providers and have the ability to secure more bandwidth if necessary, but at this time we are in good shape. At this point, we do not anticipate any network issues or disruptions of service. In case of any network emergency, the I-Light and Indiana GigaPOP NOC should be contacted using the same escalation procedures that your networking leads would use for any issue.
